Abstract:

The MAPPSEE project will research the representation of three types of architecture: product, process and supply chain. The project will develop a framework for exploring the emergent issues concerning the interaction of these architectures brought about by the extended enterprise. It will propose a specific framework for the use of SE teams to manage the asynchronous nature of these architectural structures in the context of a current multi-national aerospace project. The project will further develop the notion of 3DCE and propose methods for its implementation within the aerospace project. The portfolio of extant processes and conceptual product designs, provided by a lead industrial partner (and a selection of firms from the network of project partners), will provide the research environment for the investigation.
